In machining by chip removal it is very rare that new machines questions well-established technologies, usually novelties are more or less important developments of known elements. With the 701S machine presented as World Premiere at EMO, Willemin-Macodel is about to change the way we will see machining.
The machine is designed around a parallel architecture as opposed to a classic (serial) one and I haven’t a lot more information for now. What we know for sure:
- It is a small machine dedicated to microtechnology with
- sub-micronic precision,
- dedicated to work by interpolation.
- It will include a completely new system to hold the tools and
- will not need a lot of energy.
We will come back on the subject of this new machine very soon.
