The traditional show dedicated to high precision turning, machining and tools just closed its door at La Roche-sur-Foron (France). Official figures are not available yet, but the general feeling gathered through the alleys is very positive. Even if the show was a little bit smaller than last issue and that some players didn’t want to go there to exhibit, the result is surprising. A lot of exhibitors actually did business on their booth… and the ones that didn’t come will never know if they would have missed business or not.

Innovation There was a bunch of new products presented at the show and visitors were able to discover these in a friendly atmosphere. The most amazing product? I don’t know, but amongst the novelties, the three spindle machines from Emissa was quite surprising. Using well known elements like multispindle heads, the manufacturer achieved in proposing a radically new way to produce high precision turned parts. Eurotec will come back on this later.
Art and machine tools A painting exhibition was organized during the show too… this to explain that art is a way to link people, exactly like sales in the machine tool industry. I’ve met the painter and will report this colorful meeting later too.
The future Thousands and thousands of children and teenager were able to "touch" the industry thanks to the Smile exhibition that was directly linked to Simodec.
I will come back on the news presented there as well as on the final figures published by the organizers.. all in all, this issue was very promising. Let’s hop the trend will carry on.
