For ages machine tool users have been looking for a good solution to bring coolant as close to the cutting edge as possible. They seek a system which guarantees a precise arrival of lubricant where the chip is being generated.
Until today it was necessary to bend copper tubes to drive the liquid to the cutting area. It was also possible to set up tubes articulated by spheres, regularly moved by chips and needing to be moved on every action on the machine, but none of those possibilities can be seen as ideal.
Easy set up on the original platen MultiDec®-Lube is dedigned to be installed on the original platen of the machine without any change. Just drop the original clamping wedge and install the Multidec®-Lube system. The user keeps the original screws to tighten it. The new system doesn’t need extra space as the Multidec®-Lube footprint has been designed to be reduced. For instance during cutting operations when the counter spindles comes very close to the tools for taking short parts.
Standard tools The new tool-holder system consists of a clamping wedge which includes the arrival of the lubricant as well as a stop for positioning. It requires no special tools. It is the tightness of the tool on the wedge which assures the arrival of oil on the cutting edge through two highly targeted jets. Removing and setting up tools are simplified as there is no oil arrival linked to the tools.
Repeatability and time saving To reduce changing tools time, Multidec®Lube offers a stop located at the back of the system which, when set-up, allows removing and setting of the Insert holder with accuracy in the order of a few hundredths of a millimeter.
