Sandvik Coromant introduces its new CoroMill® 325 thread whirling inserts and holders for medical applications.

Thread whirling is a rapid and accurate method of threading long, slender components from difficult-to-machine materials. By combining the speed of thread whirling with the rigidity of a sliding head machine, complete threads are produced accurately, in a single pass, without the need for special supports.

Quick and efficient The new and innovative CoroMill 325 thread whirling inserts and holders from Sandvik Coromant have the ability to produce a range of high precision medical screws and implants from rough stock at high speeds. Using this technique, a number of advantages can be gained over traditional single-point threading including increased productivity, faster set-up times, superior chip control, increased tool life over conventional tools and the avoidance of extra time and cost for finishing operations.

To go further To maximize performance in quality and long safe tool life it is important to provide the market a tool where all individual inserts are taking an equal part of the cutting process. To guarantee this added value Sandvik Coromant is using a method of grinding that guarantee identically grinding which means if you are using insert from the same batch it generates a long safe tool life.
