The industry event for the entire sheet metal processing sequence has just started at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre (it will last from the 1st through the 4th of December, 2009). With approximately 940 exhibitors on more than 750,000 square feet of overall exhibition floor space, the show is quite impressive and fully visited.

Hard times Fiscal year 2009, which has been difficult for everyone, will close in a more or less conciliatory manner with the trade fair duo consisting of the 9th BLECHexpo and the 2nd SCHWEISStec. Whereas at the beginning of the year the actual consequences of the financial crisis could not yet be foreseen, driving nearly all industry sectors into something like a state of shock, it’s becoming more and more apparent at the end of the year that not only has the lowest point been reached, but rather that companies are once again gaining considerably more confidence as well. And thus the two complementary technical trade fairs, the 9th BLECHexpo and 2nd SCHWEISStec, will be held at precisely the right time, in order to conclusively set the course into the future for sheet metal, pipe and profile processing companies.
Looking to the Future ... The industry’s companies from the field of sheet metal processing machines, as well as welding and joining technologies, are literally grabbing this opportunity by the scruff of the neck in order to offer a comprehensive presentation of their products and services, and are, so to speak, taking the first step towards a new dawn. And thus 860 companies from 29 countries around the globe will participate at BLECHexpo, which is certainly more than just a representative cross-section. At the same time, an additional 79 companies from 8 countries have registered to exhibit at SCHWEISStec, so that a total of 939 exhibitors from 29 nations will present the state-of-the-art in the field of sheet metal processing, as well as welding and joining technology. With their 939 exhibiting companies, the BLECHexpo international trade fair for sheet metal processing and the SCHWEISStec international trade fair for joining and fastening technology will occupy 689,000 and 64,000 square feet of overall floor space respectively, for a total of 753,000 square feet.
Positive feeling I’ve met a few exhibitors and they are positive about the attendance, the shows actually meet their expectations. I discussed with Humard Automation SAfrom Delémont (Switzerland) and their agent in Germany (Reuter Synergies). This company has been active in automation, robotization and presses for many years but is coming to Germany now only. They wanted to move only when everything would be ready… and that’s the case now. Their solutions are impressive and Eurotec will come back on the subject later.
Cheers Py
