Schaublin Machines launches new machine at Prodex

November 2012

The Prodex Exhibition in Basle, Switzerland, will be the launch pad for the new Schaublin Machines 142 Series. To be discovered on hall 1, stand C06 from next Tuesday.

The company will be exhibiting the 142 7AX-Y-CP with optional integrated robot loading and unloading system. The 142 Series from Schaublin Machines is the ideal partner for any company targeting high precision, repeatability and reliability. This compact, rigid turning centre offers a spindle throughbore of 42mm Ø for bar working and a maximum chucking Ø of 180mm.

The right machine to choose The new 142 7AX-Y-CP machine being presented is part of a modular range that includes several models with between 2 and 7 linear axes to suit the exacting needs of the end user. The range enables Schaublin Machines to present a machining solution clearly dedicated to production environments as well as small batch or prototype machining.

From bars or billets The 142 Series can work with bars or billets with Robot Loading. With optional twin spindles and twin motorized turret each with 12x12 live tools, it is possible to work on both sides of the part simultaneously. The 23 kW main and 23 kW counter-spindle simplifies the balance between front and back-end working.

New pre-setting system With the new machine, Schaublin Machines has identified tool pre-setting as an area where it can minimize downtime and improve productivity. With this in mind, Schaublin Machines has developed a tool setting system in conjunction with its partner Sauter Feinmechanik. The company has developed this system rather than use a universal system because accuracy is improved as it guarantees the exact position of the pre-set tools. This allows the customer to quickly change tools whilst obtaining remarkable accuracy levels that are expected from the outstanding Schaublin Machines range.
