Zimmerli SA becomes Amtec SA
Dieter Amstutz, who has been with Zimmerli SA since 2007, acquired a majority stake in the company at the end of 2023. The remaining shares remain in the hands of Pero AG, a partner of the Zimmerli family since the company’s foundation.

As part of a structural reorganisation, the company will officially become ‘Amstutz Technologies amtec SA’ from September 2026.

A multi-brand distributor since its inception in 1991, the company offers industrial solutions for machining, grinding, washing and degreasing, laser processes, lubricant and chip treatment, and micro-cutting for demanding sectors such as machinery and transport manufacturing, the medical sector and the luxury goods industry.

Extensive knowledge of cleaning
Thanks to its long-standing partnership with Pero, the Bavarian manufacturer of industrial parts washing and degreasing machines, amtec SA is able to offer a wide range of washing solutions. “Whilst Pero machines are admittedly slightly more expensive than some of their competitors, their excellent design and performance mean they retain their value over the long term and prove cost-effective.It is not uncommon to see machines delivered 20 years ago that are still in operation,” explains Dieter Amstutz. “We monitor 450 machines in production on a daily basis across the markets we cover, namely Switzerland and its border regions in France (01-25-39-74), as well as Portugal.” The sales structure is the same in every region covered: the company operates a showroom in each region, complete with a machine for test runs and a stock of spare parts, thereby ensuring that service calls are dealt with on the same day or within 24 hours at the latest.

amtec SA has also been representing Elma Ultrasonic for around fifteen years. Specialising in ultrasonic cleaning machines, Elma offers innovative products that guarantee thorough cleaning of parts, whether they are metal, plastic, printed circuit boards, etc. With its ultrasonic cleaners on the one hand, and its powerful industrial systems and steam degreasers on the other, Elma provides ideal cleaning solutions for medical instruments, precision parts for the watchmaking and jewellery industries, and for the wider industrial sector, as well as for delicate components.

“By capitalising on the complementary nature of the two brands, amtec SA is able to offer its customers a wider range of tailored cleaning solutions,” emphasises Dieter Amstutz.

Overview of the amtec SA portfolio
Operating across several sectors, amtec SA represents the following brands, amongst others:

High quality as a common feature
Other technologies are also available, notably through Acsys, a company that develops solutions for laser marking, engraving, cutting and welding. In the field of CNC turning and milling, amtec SA works with Spinner, whose machines are particularly valued for their robustness, precision and durability. The field of high-speed machining is also represented by Röders’ products, which are designed for the machining of high-precision tools made from hard metals, ceramics and precious metals, as well as for fine grinding of high-value-added components. Dieter Amstutz: “Whatever the field of activity, all the products we represent have one thing in common: excellent design that enables users to achieve the very highest quality.”

Long-term investments
This year, the company’s management is committing to significant investment in two areas: the refurbishment of the head office buildings in Cortaillod, including a complete external refurbishment of the building, the installation of solar panels followed by a heat pump; and the reorganisation of logistics, with a new vertical storage system and computerised management of all field service vehicles, which are equipped with a substantial stock of spare parts. “Whatever the job a customer asks us to carry out, our technician is guaranteed to have everything they need with them to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. That is our vision of a modern and efficient service,” concludes Dieter Amstutz.
