Bar turners dreamed about it; Petitpierre did it! After more than two years of testing and development in real-life situations with stringent bar turners in the Acrotec Group, Lumen is now available on the market.
"Our priority was clear," says Vincent Rieder, director of Petitpierre’s metrology division. "We wanted to provide added value for bar turners in the stringent and harsh environment of a workshop, where parts cleaning and measurement can be done directly post-production, without having to change location, thus saving precious time and ensuring maximum reliability.”
Lumen, the solution for optical measurement directly post-production, allows instant component measurement up to 15 mm in size, thanks to simple and fast vertical or horizontal fixtures, depending on the part type (revolution parts or plateau-type parts). The part is immediately detected and measured after intelligent analysis of the cleanliness of the fixture. A maintenance kit for optics and fixtures is also provided. The interchangeability of fixtures, the fast changeover, the unnecessary use of tools and the lack of setup required are among the many advantages of Lumen.
To be measured correctly, parts must be cleaned perfectly. Drop, the automatic cleaning unit, guarantees repeatable cleaning quality and perfect synchronisation of the cleaning and measurement processes, thanks to a quantity of solvent that is adapted to the part, and a sole use of benzine. It’s possible and easy to perform three cleanings simultaneously thanks to a vacuum gripper that is adapted to the parts, easy to use and cleaned automatically.
The Drop + Lumen package, for which a patent application has been filed, is a real breakthrough in microtechnical parts cleaning and optical measurement post-production.
