Grindtec 2010: growth in spite of the global crisis

March 2010

The amount of exhibitors has grown strongly during the last few weeks, which shows how high the expectations of the sector are in the GrindTec 2010. 400 companies have booked their stands at Augsburg.

Project Manager Joachim Kalsdorf: “The sector is placing its bets on the GrindTec; all the top companies from the grinding technology sector are represented in Augsburg. The range of exhibits is be more comprehensive than ever before, and contrary to all other trends, the GrindTec will again be bigger than before".

A head start through specialisation For the Press Officer of the organisers AFAG, Winfried Forster the reason for the success of the GrindTec is to be found in the specialisation of the trade fair: “Supply and demand are almost 100 % in compliance. Every single visitor is a grinding technology specialist, so each of the visitors is interesting for the exhibitors. And in addition, as the most important platform for the sector the GrindTec offers the best overview, so that you could almost say visiting it is a must.”

GrindTec 2010: Representative overview of the novelties and trends The GrindTec 2010 offers the best overview of the sector, with grinding technology novelties and further developments. We can expect more products from the field of carbide engineering and an increase in the multitude of applications in CNC tool grinding machines. Electronics are ever more important, not only in measurement technology. More and more the high-tech world of modern computer controlled grinding of tools and parts is being focused on by research and development specialists. For this reason research institutes and training and further education colleges are heavily represented.

GrindTec FORUM – Comprehensive programme available An ideal complement to the range of exhibits shown by the exhibitors is to be seen in the presentations given at the GrindTec FORUM. On Wednesday, for example, the Chamber of Trade for Swabia will be giving information about “Promotion programmes for small and medium-sized enterprises”. Thursday will be taken for training and further education, accompanied by the competition “Tool grinder of the year”. The presentations on Friday and Saturday will deal with current trends and innovations from the field of tool grinding technology. The presentations are no longer than twenty minutes long, and afterwards the lecturers are available for question time. On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday the FDPW Academy is in charge of organizing the programme, and on Thursday (18th March) the trade journal “Fertigung” will be responsible. The complete programme is available there.

The show just started and eurotec is there too… amongst hundreds and hundreds of visitors, the show starts very well. It is not too late to plan a visit, the show is open to next Saturday.

Cheers py
