GrindTec 2012 – Organiser AFAG expecting considerable growth

November 2011

No less than 360 applications for booths at the GrindTec 2012 (as per 28.10.2011) have already been received by Project Manager Joachim Kalsdorf, only 40 less than in the record year 2010. But one thing is already clear: The GrindTec 2012 will be considerably larger (from March 14 to 17, 2012).

According to Joachim Kalsdorf: “At the moment we are planning on 30,000 m² gross area, 5,000 m² more than last time. This is caused in particular by the machinery manufacturers, many of whom have applied for considerably larger exhibition booths. But a whole lot of new manufacturers will also be exhibiting for the first time in Augsburg, and a large amount of the companies, which had stayed away in the economic crisis year 2010, will now be exhibiting again.”

GrindTec international: Switzerland as the leader, and China is coming too At the moment a third of the applications are coming from foreign countries, with Switzerland with 41 exhibitors following its tradition in the leading position, followed by Italy in second place (13 companies,) followed by China with 10 participating companies. However, this order might well change soon, as the Chinese grinding technology industry is showing great interest in the GrindTec. During November the Project Management will be joining the German Trade Association for Precision Tool Grinding FDPW at a trade fair for grinding technology in Zhengzhou and inviting the Chinese trade associations to visit the GrindTec 2012.

The countdown has started: plans of the exhibition halls will soon be complete Although the exhibition area has been generously extended, the top positions have already become rare. For this reason the Project Manager Joachim Kalsdorf advises all interested companies to send in their application forms as soon as possible, in order to be present at the leading meeting for this sector.
