The Manufacturing Technologies Association is pleased to announce that a very special guest, HRH Duke of York, will be officially opening MACH2010 at 3.30pm on Monday 7 June. HRH will open MACH at a time when the UK’s manufacturing sector is finally showing real signs of growth – a time when it matters as never before to the UK’s economic prosperity.

Great times to come for UK The 1st quarter analysis for 2010 of the UK’s Output, Income & Expenditure from the Office for National Statistics saw growth revised up; with manufacturing output stronger than had been estimated in the earlier figures. Meanwhile, figures from a recent CBI survey show significant improvement in both export and total order books and, as a result, expectations for output growth over the coming quarter have edged up, with SME’s the most optimistic. Export order books are at their strongest for two years, while total orders books were last at the current level in August 2008. The MTA’s own survey’s indicate a significant growth in orders too. The UK also leads other euro-zone and EU27 countries on European Industrial New Orders, according to data from Eurostat, with a 36.3% increase in orders compared to March 2009. The even to visit The UK’s premier manufacturing technologies event, MACH, opens for 2010 on Monday 7 June for a five day residency in Halls 4 and 5 at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham. The biennial event attracts in excess of 27,000 visitors and almost 450 exhibitors keen to see the latest in engineering-based hi-tech manufacturing technologies.
