In July 2010, Dr. Ludwig Pierkes has taken over as head of HASCO’s Hot Runner Division. HASCO is a leading international manufacturer of standard mould units and a specialist for hot runner technology. The company is based in Lüdenscheid/Germany.
Ludwig Pierkes studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and then worked as a scientific assistant at the IKV (Institute of Plastics Processing), before being awarded his doctorate in mechanical engineering. He collected practical experience in leading positions in industry for several years before becoming Professor of production, quality management and logistics at the University of Wilhelmshaven. With the wealth of know-how he has amassed, Dr. Pierkes will work with his team to ensure that HASCO’s Hot Runner Division continues to grow at a dynamic rate. The most important tasks for HASCO and thus also for Dr. Pierkes will be to meet the future demands of the market, to fill new niche opportunities and to exploit synergies with the other divisions of the company.
