To highlight the most outstanding innovations in this field, the show’s Innovation Trophies will be awarded on the first day of the show. Comprising nine professionals, the jury will include two women engineers for the first time. Nine trophies will be awarded in seven equipment and service categories, based on criteria of technical, competitive, environmental and quality innovation. The categories are Machine Tools and Automation, Cutting Tools and Tooling, Quality, Measurement and Control, Peripheral Equipment and Lubrication, Artificial Intelligence and Industry 4.0. For the first time, raw materials and treatments, as well as corporate social responsibility and training, are also included in this list. The winning products will all be showcased throughout the show and throughout the year. Some exhibitors have already started submitting their entries. Entries are due to close on 19 January 2024.
360° technology watch for intelligent investments
With the help of its professional partners, and thanks to regular consultation with exhibitors, the SIMODEC show promotes technology watch, increased visitor knowledge and a 360° perception of the range of production machinery and tools on offer. Precision mechanical engineering and bar turning are changing, and so are the investments required. At SIMODEC, precision machinists and bar turners will benefit from an exceptional showcase, offering them a whole range of solutions for adapting their businesses and their professions to the changes in the automotive, aeronautics, HBJO and micromechanics sectors. Located close to Geneva airport and the A410 and A40 motorways, the exhibitors at SIMODEC 2024 will be bringing together from 4 to 8 March 2024 a unique workshop for these professions, combining artificial intelligence and human mechanical engineering to serve them.
The 70th anniversary of the bar turning show
By organising the SMILE area, the SN-Dec wants to introduce the younger generation to the trades of a bar-turning company in a dynamic setting. During the meeting with exhibitors, Alain Appertet, President of the Syndicat National du Décolletage, emphasised the interest of bar turners in the SIMODEC exhibition: "In these times of uncertainty about the future of our markets, SIMODEC offers us the opportunity to discover the investments that enable companies to diversify their activity and strengthen their competitiveness," he said in essence. To celebrate its 70th anniversary, SIMODEC 2024 has created the Exhibitors’ Club. With their help, an illustrated retrospective of its previous editions will show how the show has enabled the bar-turning industry to cope with the various ups and downs of its market. Thanks to the economic and technical expertise of its exhibitors, SIMODEC is strengthening its role at the service of specialists in the sector. "With the SIMODEC show and the SMILE space, we have the essential tools to meet the challenges of a sustainable, humane and high-performance precision engineering industry," concluded the President of SN Dec. SIMODEC 2024 is due to be opened by the President of the French Automotive Platform, Luc Chatel. The head of a French automotive group is scheduled to open an exceptional conference on the future of the sector.
