New visitor service for LASYS 2010 Experts from the German laser research centers Will help to solve production problems. “Seek and you shall find”. This saying can sometimes be difficult to apply to real life. It is not always easy to find the needle in the haystack, something which applies for highly specialized trade fairs too. However, this is no longer the case, or at least not for LASYS 2010. A special new visitor service has been added to the event line-up with “Solution Center – meet the experts”: an independent, established advisory service for all kinds of production problems. This Solution Center is the brainchild of the experts on the LASYS advisory council. Centrally located in Hall 1 and at their own trade fair stands, experts from renowned research institutes will be on hand from 8 to 10 June 2010 to answer any questions visitors may have regarding laser production, as well as to recommend the appropriate manufacturers for specific production problems. The information given is both free and impartial. “With the Solution Center, we would like to convince as many trade fair visitors as possible of the advantages to innovative laser technology and to recommend individual solutions for their particular problems. Visitors should bring their parts and products with them to the fair and we can show them, using these examples, the potential laser-based production can offer. We want to make the introduction to laser technology easier, as well as open up new possibilities in laser material processing to existing users; ideally to act as a link between the system manufacturers and the users”, explains Prof. Thomas Graf, Director of the Institut für Strahlwerkzeuge (IFSW) of the University of Stuttgart, regarding the intentions of the participating research institutes. “In order for the concept of the advisory service to be taken seriously, we are placing great importance on impartial specialist support”, emphasises Prof. Graf.

LASYS will take place from 8 to 10 June 2010 on the grounds of the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre, directly beside the airport. www.lasys-messe.de
