The world of trade shows is very competitive and companies don’t have infinite marketing budgets… hence their managers must chose carefully on what event it is the best to be present (because visitors will be there or because their competition will exhibit too or any other good reason). Today EPHJ/EPMT/SMT presented its concept for 2012. With more than 80% of this year’s exhibitors already on board for next year, the success is already on its way.

With a 10-year track record the EPHJ exhibition has lived a steady growth since its birth. Next year exhibition will take place in Genève (as already announced here) and today’s common presentation by the owners of the show and the management of Palexpo presented clearly that most of the exhibitors have already seen all the benefits of this new venue.
More than 80% already signed 10 months before the show Such a level of renewal is incredible so early before next edition and –according to O. Saenger, co-founder of the show- “it demonstrates the fact that the exhibitors have seen and lived the value of their show”.
Genève versus Lausanne, what doesn’t change?
- The general concept of the show remains the same
- The positive general attitude (friendly and professional)
- All in the same building
- For people coming from the north, same time to reach the exhibition place (for all others, shorter) Genève versus Lausanne, what does actually change in positive?
- Modern infrastructure, every exhibitor on the same level
- A lot of space to allow the growth
- Simplified accessibility by plane, train and car
- Less expensive for exhibitors
- Air conditioning and general working conditions
- Genève attracts more people (international city) Genève versus Lausanne, what does actually change in negative?
- Sorry, I don’t find any negative aspect of this change! (Ok maybe we would have to change our habits and yes, for the cities that makes a difference as the economical “side effects” of the show pass from Lausanne to Genève. But for most of the exhibitors and visitors, the change will be lived positively I’m convinced.
Clearly the world of exhibitions is living an important change in Switzerland with this move and there is more to come. Obviously I’ll keep you posted.
