Blum, the measuring technique company was one of the sponsors at the "technical synergies" exhibition last week in La Neuveville (see our news here). I discovered a new probe system. The new probes allows fast, precise and automatic tool setting and breakage control in turning and milling centers.
All the data are automatically transmitted wireless to the control of the machine, there is no risk of any manual wrong information feed. Through the modular design and the whole range of options and accessories it can be adapted to meet the special requirements of customers and thereby extending significantly the range of applications.
A new patent for more accuracy and reliability The probe incorporates the newly announced and patented shark360-technology which introduces a modified face gear to the probe assembly. The shark360 measuring mechanism sets a new benchmark in accuracy and reliability within the measuring technology for machining centers.

The fact that the measuring system is build on a 360° basis, and not on 3 points like usually, brings Blum a clear increase in precision and then a competitive advantage.
