On October 15th, the first site-planning phase for AMB 2022 began. The project team is now reviewing the applications received and drawing up the first stand placement proposals.
"It’s fantastic: the industry has firmly marked AMB 2022 in the trade show calendar and we can already report over 940 registrations for the next event. Together with exhibitors, we will design the best platform for all users of metal cutting technology from all over Europe next year to enable direct dialog and exchange between people and face-to-face encounters," said Gunnar Mey, Head of the Industry Department at Messe Stuttgart.
In past editions, AMB has exhausted all capacities of the Stuttgart site, and the current registration status leads to the same for 2022. With a total of 10 exhibition halls, more than 125,000 gross square meters are available for the "World of Mechanical Engineering," as one of the AMB slogan goes. Thanks to good registration figures, there are no changes to the thematic structure and hall allocation of AMB 2022 currently planned: machining tools and clamping devices can be found in the L-Bank Forum (Hall 1) and the Jacques-Lanners Hall (Hall 3). In Hall 2 the topics are Control & Drive systems as well as Software and Engineering. In the Mahle Hall (Hall 4) and the Oskar Lapp Hall (Hall 6), the focus is on lathes and automatic robots, workpiece and tool handling technology. Hall 5 shows grinding and tool grinding machines, and related technologies. The Alfred Kärcher Hall (Hall 8) will showcase innovations in saw and cut-off grinding machines, surface technology, marking systems, hardening, heating machines, lubrication and cooling, and safety and environmental technology. Halls 7, 9 and the Paul Horn Hall (Hall 10) will round out the program with milling machines, material-removing machine tools, measuring technology and quality assurance, as well as flexible manufacturing cells/systems, machining centers and gear cutting or drilling machines. "With the airport, Autobahn, city trams (U-Bahn) and commuter rail (S-Bahn) in front of the trade fair gates; many modern business hotels on campus and a thematic layout of the venue, trade visitors can make their visit to the show as efficient as possible. Be it a one-day or multi-day visit, the combined infrastructure and trade fair concept are unique in Europe and offer optimal conditions," says Mey, explaining the circumstances for Stuttgart.
A new feature at AMB 2022 will be the "Industrial Security" themed day, which Messe Stuttgart is organizing together with digital@bw and partners. After all, Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence are inconceivable without the protection of data and know-how in cross-company production and communication processes. The AMB event next September will be the first manufacturing trade show to organize a program of expert talks, technical presentations and informational offerings at pop-up trade show booths.
AMB 2022 is a fixture in the industry calendar – taking place for 2022 on 13-17 September. The next important milestone for AMB 2022 exhibitors will be the first quarter of 2022 when the floorplans are released. In a similar timeframe, trade fair visitors can start viewing further program content on the AMB website.
