At the EMO in hall 27, stand D68, Chiron will exhibit eight “new generation” machining centers – including five world premieres – to demonstrate all aspects of efficient, fast and precise machining for numerous applications in different industries and with a wide range of materials. The live machining demonstrations will focus on productivity increases by the use of multi-spindle technology, simultaneous turning and milling, new automation solutions and energy efficient machining centers.
Double productivity and 40% less energy For the first time, Chiron is displaying the compact DZ 08 FA, which makes double productivity possible with two spindles in the smallest space while reducing energy consumption by more than 40%. The new machining center is also economical in its use of space, since the compact design ensures increased productivity per unit of space. The DZ 08 FA offers excellent surface quality thanks to five simultaneously controlled axes featuring direct-drive technology. The fast 2-axis tilt rotary table and short chip-to-chip times starting from 1.9 seconds make economical machining possible for complex work-pieces in a single set-up. Economy can also be improved with the completely integrated FlexcellUNO and FlexcellDUO robot cells. At the EMO, Chiron will show the version of the DZ 08 FA with a 40,000 rpm main spindle and 2 x 16 HSK 40 tools. For even shorter work-piece changing times of only two seconds, the machining center is also available with a fast work-piece changing table.
Simultaneous milling and turning The second new product being shown at the trade fair, the FZ 08 MT machining center, provides greater efficiency and productivity in bar machining. At Chiron, “MT” stands for “Mill Turn” and the newly introduced concept for simultaneous milling and turning by integrating a turning spindle. With this equipment, the FZ 08 MT is perfectly suited for 6 side machining, is especially simple to load and unload and offers a much improved chip fall area. Greater precision is available by the use of a mineral cast base and the direct measuring system in all axes.
Four spindles for large quantities of pieces The third product being premiered is designed for large quantities of pieces: the highly productive TZ 15 W four-spindle machining center. This flexible machining center can be set up for 5-side machining with work-piece changing devices. At the EMO, Chiron will show the TZ 15 W as a fast automation solution together with the integrated FlexcellUNO robot unit. This can exchange the work-pieces in about two seconds and has a part storage unit with up to twelve pallets, which are replaced parallel to the machining operation.
The five other machining centers Chiron is showing at its stand feature an innovative design and especially ergonomic, redesigned control panels.
