The Zenith of grinding technology at EMO

July 2011

A great deal of industry excitement has already surrounded the launch of Holroyd’s new Zenith machine which is destined to be one of the stars of the show. The machine is Holroyd’s first with the capability to use all three grinding technologies, aluminium oxide, "diamond-hard" plated CBN (cubic boron nitride) and vitrified CBN.

The Zenith machine will have the capacity to grind some of the largest rotors in the industry at 420 mm and offer the flexibility to use tooling from their existing range of grinding machines and those of their competitors. This is a whole new generation of grinding machine technology for the company, encompassing modern innovations, coupled with an exciting new easy feel control system that incorporates both a development and production software suite to suit all potential user requirements in either research and development or mass production.

Turning heads at the show PTG Heavy Industries will also be turning heads at the show with its display of sample roll turning lathe and deep hole boring machine bed sections, along with components and tooling, to demonstrate the modular construction techniques and latest technology available in its range of heavy duty turning and deep hole boring machines. The technologies on display will include those featured in the range of machines supplied to the global steel, oil & gas, defence, aerospace and general medium and heavy engineering sectors.
