Machines

Tornos open-house this week

December 2011

From December 6 to 9, 2011, the machine tool builder exhibits the machines presented in 2011 at EMO in its premises in Moutier. It is the occasion to discover these solutions in a friendly environment. The specialists from the company are eager to welcome visitors.

In order to present a global solution to customers, Sandvik Coromant tools and Tesa measuring devices are also on display in Moutier.

Tornos New machines and solutions The following solutions can be discovered:

Let’s see the news more in details MultiSwiss 6x14 The MultiSwiss is a numerically-controlled multi-spindle turning machine featuring new technologies and containing all the peripherals required for optimal operation at a lower price than any other CNC multi-spindle machine. This is the achievement of the MultiSwiss 6x14. It takes its name from the maximum bar passage diameter (14mm) multiplied by the number of spindles. The user-friendly MultiSwiss has been designed to offer maximum user comfort. The MultiSwiss 6x14 is the first multi-spindle turning machine on the market to be equipped with mobile spindles. That makes it the first sliding headstock multi-spindle turning machine to offer an all-in-one peripheral

Delta 38/5 The Moutier-based group’s partnership with the Japanese Precision Tsugami group has enabled it to develop the Delta 38/5 machine - its passport to the world of large diameters. Produced by Tsugami, to Tornos’ own specifications, this turning machine offers great rigidity and high power. The partnership brought together two different visions to produce the optimal machine; in addition, like similar partnerships in the automotive industries, the Delta 38/5 retains the Tornos-specific features, particularly in terms of the software, with a complete range of G900-type programming help macros.

Almac CU1007 The Almac CU1007 machining centre will be presented with its softening cell; this enables parts to be fully machined. This means that the front and rear faces are machined on a single machine. The robot at the centre of the assembly enables the part to be loaded and transferred between machines and also manages the palletisation and softening of the part. The machining centre will be used to produce a brand new medical part at the show.

Cyklos The Cyklos is the first of a new kind of surface treatment machine and can be installed in a standard mechanical workshop. Unlike a traditional process that works using vertical immersion, the Cyklos works by rotating, thus guaranteeing superior quality. This new concept enables customers to make considerable progress in terms of organising the treatment of their parts in large batches

EvoDeco 10 To present an automatic lathe destined to replace Deco 10 is no mean feat when it has made such a mark on its era. For over 10 years it held the top spot for flexibility, precision, speed and productivity. Over 2500 lathes of this type are in use today and although its kinematics remains the most efficient today, Tornos has made some modifications to allow the new EvoDeco 10a machine to better meet the needs of customers.
