VDMA Congress “Producing more intelligently”

September 2013

Leading experts from international industry will come to Hanover on the September 16 and 17 // Focus on solutions for the challenges in production today and in the future // Global networks playing an increasingly important role.

Anyone who would like to exchange ideas with international champions in production technology and at the same time learn about the latest technologies should not miss the VDMA congress “Producing more intelligently.” It will take place on September16 and 17, 2013 as part of the world’s leading exhibition for the machine tool industry, the EMO Hannover.

Inspired by technology Based on the motto “Inspired by technology,” 21 experts will discuss their experiences and success strategies in a global production environment. “Today, technological development is no longer conceivable without networks,” explains Hartmut Rauern, a member of the VDMA Executive Directorate. “Thinking above and beyond industry boundaries is a prerequisite for value-added partnerships and innovation networks,” Rauen continues. In the plenary presentations of the two-day congress, global players like Robert Bosch, Boeing, Daimler, John Deere or Mori Seiki will report on how this thought process is being translated successfully into practice and implemented in production technology.

Industry 4.0 on its way The topic of efficiency will be all about sustainable and resource-saving production. Finally, intelligence, also known as Industry 4.0, will address the issue of the close dovetailing of the virtual and real production worlds. Congress participants will get more information first-hand about the best practices and innovation strategies of leading institutions and companies – Audi, DFKI, Festo, Sandvik and Siemens, to name but a few. Further elements of the congress will include a visit to the international EMO reception as well as guided tours around the trade fair. The latter will offer the opportunity to experience production technology innovations live. “This mixture will definitely cover the requirements of many EMO and congress visitors,” Rauen states with conviction.
